COOPER LIGHT - South Coast Natal

COOPER LIGHT – Bluff Durban

This is a 23metre concrete column and is the only lighthouse on the South coast to be named after a personality i.e. Mr Harry Claude Cooper a former lighthouse Engineer. The Cooper Lighthouse is situated on the Bluff Durban, in the residential area of Brighton beach and is easy to find. This powerful light is visible for 23 sea miles and screens were erected to shield the residents from the light in certain areas.

"O soul, are you weary and troubled? No light in the darkness you see? There’s a light for a look at the Savior, And life more abundant and free!"
