JESSER POINT - Sodwana Bay - North Coast

Jesser point lighthouse is situated within the Natal Parks Board holiday resort of Sodwana Bay. This is the most northerly light on the South African east coast. It consists of a 10 metre high concrete tower supporting a reinforced glass plastic lantern. The light flashes 4 white flashes every 40 seconds and the range is 25 sea miles. Access is by road through the park and a key is available from the office at the resort during office hours. As we arrived after closing time, one of the employees offered to show us the path from the beach It is only a short walk along the beach then a rather winding path through the coastal vegetation.

"Shine Jesus shine, fill this land with the Father's glory. Send forth your word Lord and let there be light" "Hymns from e-Swosd"
