M'BASHE

M’BASHE – TRANSKEI

This lighthouse is situated east of the Bashee River mouth half way between East London and Port St Johns it was originally known as Bashee. It consists of a 14 metre lattice steel structure with a fully automatic revolving electric lantern. The lighthouse is less than a kilometer from the small coastal holiday resort of The Haven, interestingly, this is where the rescued passengers of the Oceanis were sheltered on the 4th August 1991.
