CAPE VIDAL -Zululand - North Coast

Cape Vidal lighthouse is north of the Umfolozi River and within the Cape Vidal Forestry Reserve. Though you can drive to the lighthouse, we came accross it by driving through the reserve, walking 3km along the beautiful unspoilt beach and then up an almost concealed pathway through dence dune vegetation. The 23 metre high concrete tower is painted bright yellow, a good contrast to all the greenery. This light gives one white flash every 10 seconds. As there are many places of interest nearby, and abundant accommodation in St Lucia, it is a great one to visit.

"I who made the stars of night, I will make their darkness bright. Who will bear my light to them? Whom shall I send" "Hymns from e-Sword"
